The New Gate Jerusalem – Video
The New Gate is located Jerusalem in the west of the northern side of the Old City Walls.
The name “New Gate” was given since this is the newest gate in the walls that surround the Old City of Jerusalem. The Gate was constructed in year 1887 in order to connect the Christian quarter with the new neighborhoods that were established, at that time, out side the walls of Old City of Jerusalem.
Another name for the gate is Bab es Sultan Adb ul Hamid for the name of the Ottoman sultan, Abdul Hamid II, who had ordered the opening of this gate.
